April 25, 2021 – Moving in Our 70’s in a Time of Covid – First Full Day in Our New Location!
“I think the relief of being done with the move between locations really konked us out last night, lol! Slept little later than usual, made a leisurely healthy breakfast, sorted through….”

April 23, 2021 – Moving in Our 70’s in a Time of Covid – Long Day, Almost Finished the Transition to Our New Location
Had hoped to finish with the old place and be set for sorting and unpacking at the new, but too much to do. That and rolling thunderstorms, hail and threats of tornadoes, lol!

April 22, 2021 – Moving in Our 70’s in a Time of Covid – The Movers Arrive, on Earth Day
Don’t want to tell you what we have ahead in terms of chores (esp setting up new WiFi), but can tell you, as per the top pic, we earned our keep today on Earth Day, moving within the trees 😊 💕 🌳

April 21, 2021 – Moving in Our 70’s in a Time of Covid – Catching the New Light at the New Apartment
Most of what we took yesterday (Tue, the 20th) were boxed paintings, but one, the acrylic Lady in Paris 1889 which I’d been working on, chosen ’cause the paint would dry quickly minimizing smears & all that, lol, and that one, not too big, at 20×20, was super light, so I just hand carried it.

April 20, 2021 – Moving in Our 70’s in a Time of Covid – Our 1st Peek of Our New Abode
Tomorrow I’ll try and have some interior shots I took before our car load of boxes came in; another similar round of car loads tomorrow, then the “big” movers come Thursday; but right now, 5 min til 8pm, we’re very hopeful, and we’re calling it a day, quite a day ♥️

March 31, 2021 – Changes in My Blogging Pattern
“…we are preparing for a new day in a new location much nearer town (close to the above pic where we lived before for a long time, but a little more west, closer to Zilker Botanical Garden) and family (grandchildren and children).”

March 20, 2021 – Happy 1st Day of Spring! I Slept Late, Fed the Birds ( or Did They Feed Me? ), Pandemic Lunch with a Friend, Visited Family, oh, and Painted!
The Time Change and my wife and I have not started speaking yet. We don’t like the time change thing. And it’s not which 1/2 year version we prefer; no, just pick one….

March 07, 2021 – Woke to This! Masks Now To Be Required to Grocery Shop at HEB, Randalls – Opinion, It’s the Right Thing To Do
Sheila came rushing in to the kitchen to ask me to guess who reversed their no-masks-required decision, and I jokingly “guessed” at several of our state’s leadership, but I was wrong anyway, lol! No, it’s more important than that actually – it’s where we shop to buy our food!
-
March 04, 2021 – Masks in Grocery Stores in Austin – Back to Mask/Mass Confusion
All I feel I can really do is wish and pray for the safety of everyone in those stores without mandates, whether pro or con re the masks. If we’re in this together, we really need to act like we’re are in this together ♥️

February 22, 2021 – Austin Winter Storm, Power is On, Water is Running, Boil Ban is Canceled, and – I Shaved!
It’s hard to express the relief in again having the taken-for-granted luxury of running water, power to heat and cool our air and bodies, and being able to stand with family, even if for a short time, even if we knew we’d all four had to have been social distancing / masking – even if…

February 21, 2021 – Austin Winter Storm, Hope is a Wet Blue Line and One Brave Bird in a Tree
My apologies for the break in communication continuity since yesterday morning – it’s been a rough but promising ride, and, I got my own answer as to how come the phrase/idea, “Why the Caged Bird Sings” has always appealed to me 😊

February 16, 2021 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities
Info is coming out of ignored warnings within our Texas energy company re mis-use of power margins (I don’t know the details) and warnings of energy crunches, especially during our seemingly unending hot summers. The local news calls it “a lot of finger pointing.”

Wearing masks in Austin starts (officially) today Just a few days after seeing close to 90% of the folks at a local supermarket not wearing masks, not donning gloves, and generally putting their phones and other items on the fresh produce, the City of Austin has issued an order for all folks to wear masks…
